Support for adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or caught in unhelpful patterns and want practical ways to feel more in control and move forward.
You may look like you’re coping on the outside, but internally it can feel overwhelming, exhausting, or hard to manage.
Many of the people I work with feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, low mood, or emotional overwhelm, where thoughts won’t switch off and the same patterns keep repeating.
I'm Karolina Allan, a BACP registered and NCPS accredited counsellor offering a collaborative approach to help individuals aged 16 and above. I offer CBT-based therapy to help you understand these patterns, how they are maintained, and how to begin changing them in practical, manageable ways.

In our work together, I offer a steady and supportive space where we focus on understanding what is going on beneath your current difficulties.
Rather than staying only with the surface experience, we explore how certain thinking patterns, emotional responses, and behaviours may be influencing how you feel and function day to day.
Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we work in a structured but flexible way to help you develop more helpful ways of responding and coping with challenges as they arise.
Over time, this can support a greater sense of balance, perspective, and confidence in how you manage everyday life.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and we move at a pace that feels right for you.
Counselling can help you step back from patterns that feel overwhelming or difficult to manage on your own, and begin to understand what is driving them.
Rather than staying caught in the same cycles, therapy gives you space to reflect on your thoughts, emotional responses, and behaviours in a clearer and more structured way.
With CBT, we focus on helping you notice unhelpful patterns as they arise and explore more helpful ways of responding in your day-to-day life. This is a practical process that supports change over time, not just insight in the moment.
Many people find that as therapy progresses, they begin to feel less caught up in their thoughts, more able to pause and respond differently, and more confident in managing everyday challenges.
The aim is not to change who you are, but to help you feel more in control of how you experience and respond to life.
As a qualified therapist, I have experience in supporting individuals with a wide range of mental health concerns and life challenges. Some of the issues I can help with include:

While counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably, there is a subtle difference between the two. Counselling typically focuses on present issues and provides short-term support to help you navigate specific challenges or crises. Psychotherapy, on the other hand, is a longer-term process that delves deeper into your past experiences, thought patterns, and emotional responses to create lasting change and personal growth. Both approaches aim to improve your mental well-being and help you lead a more fulfilling life.
